If you've read my About Me, you know that fitness is incredibly important to me! I've been an athlete all of my life. I was in great shape at the time of my accident, which I think plays a big part into why I wasn't more seriously injured. Since then, I have made it a point to continue to stay active.
For me, staying active was always in the form of a sport. I will admit, when I finished playing college volleyball, working out felt like a chore. I wasn't working out because it was fun, I was doing it because I wanted to look good. After years of going on and off with workouts that I didn't enjoy, I realized what I was doing was neither fun or sustainable. I would commit to a high intensity workout for four weeks, get sick of it, then avoid the gym for a few weeks until I found my next workout. Talk about a lot of work to workout!
Now I've found movements that I enjoy. Working out no longer feels like a chore, I do it because it makes me feel good. It's an hour out of my day that I get to focus on me. Fitness is such a big part of my life that I decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer. I work with clients individually or in group settings. I also teach Pilates reformer classes, so I try and incorporate some of my Pilates teachings into my personal training sessions.

I've met a lot of people who feel awkward or uncomfortable in the gym setting, so they tend to avoid it all together. That won't happen when you work with me! I'm certified with the Body Positive Fitness Alliance. I really strive to create a positive environment so clients are comfortable when working with me. I can throw out some tough love when needed, but I'm not going to push you over the limit.
